PADI’s Electronic Learning allows you to work on the knowledge development part of the course at your convenience. Then on both Saturday and Sunday we will head to the pool where you will complete the five confined water dives, giving you all the skills necessary for your ultimate Open Water Certification dives! On Thursday night you will meet at Scuba Shack for an in-depth session on the operation and set up of the equipment that you will be using in the pool.

This session will review key elements from the electronic learning and logistics for the remainder of the course. You will start with a virtual class (Tuesday night) where you will meet your instructor and other classmates. Our classes typically run over a one-week period. You can start your electronic learning at any time and must complete this course prior to the start of your training with Scuba Shack. You will start your journey by enrolling in a Scuba Shack Open Water Diver course and registering for your PADI Electronic Learning.

The PADI Junior Open Water Diver certification is available for those ages 12 to 14.įor certification information for 10 and 11-year olds, please contact Scuba Shack.Ī PADI Junior Open Water Diver between the ages of 10 and 11 years may only dive with a PADI Professional, a certified parent or certified guardian to a maximum depth of 12 metres/40 feet. Dive centers and resorts require proof of certification before they will rent scuba equipment, fill scuba cylinders or book dive excursions. To complete your training, you practice, apply and demonstrate what you learn during four Open Water Dives at a local dive site.Įarning a PADI Open Water Diver certification shows that you have met the course requirements. During the Confined Water Dives, you learn and practice scuba skills in a pool. Knowledge Development covers the principles, concepts and terms you need to know for dive safety and enjoyment. The PADI Open Water Diver course includes three parts: Knowledge Development, Confined Water Dives, and Open Water Dives.
